Dvd disc drive is not detected on my computer

i have a problem with my computer cannot detect dvd disc drive please help me fix this type of problem...thanks

Is this a pre-bought or homebuilt system? If you built it yourself, you could make sure that the power and data (IDE / SATA) are connected properly.

Does the drive show up and not read disk, or does the drive not show at all?
