i have g31m-s2l board w/e2180 2.0 ghz dual core processor i just want to know what is the best processor will be compatible on my board

Well you can take any LGA 775 processor and the 9650 is the highest processor available from newegg currently. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115130

However i do not recommend spending more than about $150 on that platform since it is so old and is about to be another generation behind. The E7500 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115056 ) is probably your best choice for an upgrade.

The 775 platform is still a viable option at this point. That is as long as the proc is all that is being replaced. spend what you need for you upgrade.
