I have right now this :
Asus Maximus Formula II
Intel 6600 2.4 ( OC 3.0 )
ATI Radeon 2900 XT 512
4 gb Corsair Dominator DDR2 Double channel ( with fan )
2 150 gb Raptor ( sata 1) RAID 0

I wonder is if should update to this
ASUS P6X58D Premium X58
Intel 930 2.8 ( plan to oc to 4.0 )
6 GIG DDR2 Corsair Dominator TRiple channel
ATI Radeon 5870 1 gb DDR5
Still use raptor till SSD more afordable

Or take what i got right now and put this inside :
ATI Radeon 5870 1 gb DDR5
Add a SSD 80 GIG for speed ( MAybe 2 in raid 0 for 160gb ?) (Intel X25-M 80GB 34NM 2.5IN SSD for 239.99$ CAN)
Also still use Raptor raid-0
More RAM ?

thanks for all the suggestion
i already bought the ASUS ATI 5870 and its on its way home :) I also have a Corsair 850W Power supply and a cooler master haf 932

If it's a gaming rig for the most part you could nab a used Q6600 GO or Q9550? If you need more processing power than OCed LGA775 quads can offer (rendering/encoding) overhaul sounds about right for me ^^

Yes, your new build option would be powerful, but using what you have got would still be good. I would just upgrade, but more ram, thats a good PSU and GFX card. Yea, just upgrade.

Oh, and make sure you got a 64bit os to use the extra ram - just incase

Hi
yup i always use 64 bit,
so SSD not a good idear ?
Also I have 4 Slot for my ram, i think right now ( im not home for like an other 1-2 month, )
i have 1-1-1-1 gb ram. DOUBLE
Can i do DOUBLE with this
1-2-1-2 so i will have 6 gb ? or should i go for :
2-2-2-2 ?
Also my CPU its at 3.0 right now, i heard i can go up to 3.6, not bad for a 2.4 at the origin.
what setting i need, and what is the BEST Colling fan on the market ?
thanks

Hmmm, I would try 2-2-2-2 or if you can afford it go 4-4-4-4 (if your mobo can support that much too)

An SSD would be a bit faster but I would not bother as it would not be as fast as if it had a mobo that can support USB3 SATA gbs etc, just use what youve got as far as hdds.

I would see if you can buy a better processor like a q650 or something, even an extreme edition.
As for coolers, there are heaps out there, coolermaster hyper212+ are knowen for best banf for buck, other than that you can get into your more expensive and larger coolers like a sythe mugen 2 rev.b. Theres is heaps out there, just look at the mass reviews. You could look at watercooling but up to you.
