How do Digital camera lens focal lengths compare to 35mm. For instance, a
Nikon D-70 may come with an 18-70mm zoom. What would this work out to in
for 35mm lens?
And whatever this correlation is, does it hold true for all digital
manufacturers and megapixel sizes?
Do check the manufacturer page for specific value.

The specs for digital cameras list a focal length multiplier. Take the
digital lens length and multiply by the N to get the 35mm equivalent. Since
N is determined by the size of the sensor there is a lot of variation.

That's it! Thanks folks, you've been a great help.

It depends very much on the camera -- the sensor sizes vary. For the
digital SLRs, the sensor sizes are pretty easy to find. The Nikon
D70, D100, D2h, and Fuji S2 have 1.5x crop factor. The Canon D60 and
10d and 20d have a 1.6x crop factor. The Canon 1Ds has a 1x crop
factor (full frame sensor).

No, not at all. And the consumer point-and-shoot models are even more
varied.
