Brand?

When choosing a gfx card, how important is the brand? What are some brands to stay away from?

From personal experience through to anecdotal testimonials (forum trash talk) I have come to trust XFX. Sapphire, EVGA, and MSI the most. I will not buy a Sparkle or Powercolor card. I have no concrete evidence to say that, just a general impression obtained over time.
