Hard drive detected

Hello,
I closed my laptop (apparently too hard) no it will not work. It says to " Reboot and Select proper Boot devise or insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and press any key" When i tried to use reboot disk it said, " No hard drive detected, reboot will not continue.... any help appreciated
