Gateway SX2802-01 and Vantec SATA card
Jun 13, 2010, 1:49 AM
I just purchased a Gateway SX2802-01 desktop to use as a HTPC. Since it only has 2 SATA ports, I purchased a Vantec 4+1 SATA PCI-E Combo Host card in order to expand the number of SATA ports.
When I plugged the card in and turned the computer on, the computer would get to the Setup dialogue and reboot continuously. I cannot figure out what is causing this "kernel panic."
If anyone has any experience with the Vantec SATA cards and can offer some guidance, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Are you attempting to have the boot drive connected to the vantec card? Because if so, I do not believe it would work.
