I made a big mistake it appears. I was upgrading my computer, so wanted to include an new hard drive to replace my 8 year old XP OS drive and install Win7. I put in a new 750GB drive and installed Win7 fresh. I assumed at some point I would be able to put in my XP disk to verify that this was an upgrade, but that is not the case. According to Microsoft this can't be done, all my work on installing programs onto the new drive were wasted as I have to first install XP than reinstall Win7. I am not sure how to do this. XP will not install over a newer version of windows. The OS drive (C:) can not be formated to blank status, so I am at a loss on how to get 7 off the new drive so I can put XP on the new drive so I can put 7 back on the new drive. Thanks for any tips or help!
