I took the HDD out my old laptop and I'm using it as a external hdd at the moment.

But i want to put an operating system on the laptop without having a hdd. I don't mean locally store it within a hdd, i mean i want to store it on either a memory sitck or a dvd, but im not sure if you can create a live cd with windows xp on a memory stick or dvd.

That issue aside, it's also not the easiest of programs to make work. So anyone attempting it should be prepared to spend a LOT of quality time reading up on how to use it.
