Dv8000 laptop botting problem?

Hello,
i have had to restore my lap top useing the hp restore disk and now it only comes up the the xp screen showing and then goes blank and that is but i can boot into safe mode but regular windows anyone seen this?

If the recovery disk cannot recovery your laptop then i guess it's time to start from a scratch (formating and re-install all of the drivers)...
But before that, try to re-install the driver for your graphic card...
