Mobo replacement

Hello,
I am looking to replace a mobo for an acer am5640 and also maybe upgrad toa less troublesome one as I've read they can be unreliable can anyone recomend something for me? asap please also would like to keep as many compatibel parts as possible such as cpu etc.

Hmm...look at your I/O Shield; I believe it is welded into place {most OEM PCs are that way}. If that's true then you may as well start from scratch.

If the above link is your PC then you'll need to define 'upgrade' vs 'replace' - if you upgrade the old architecture with new architecture then pretty much every component will need to be replaced including the RAM {DDR2->DDR3}, etc.
