1) I'm not sure who told it is an "Enthusiast" board. I would classify it as a "budget" board for the LGA 1366. It is probably one of the best boards you can purchase for everyday uses, features & price. By the way, I call the EVGA X58 Classified 3 or Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD9 "Enthusiast" boards.
2) Using the board, is getting your money's worth but things to get more out of it than just default items could be:
Running Dual GPU's
Running a SATA III SSD
Overclocking your CPU to at least 3.6 GHz
Overall, this is the best board to run "at default" on the LGA 1366 (IMO), so there is nothing you truly have to do to get your money's worth.
