Win xp & Projektor

Hello,
i have a Notebook with WIN XP and will clone the Monitor on a LCD-Projector with a VGA-cable .
but i became not a signal . what must i do ?

It may be enough to press your Fn key - the one to the left of the spacebar - and whichever Function key has a screen icon on it to tell the system you're using an external monitor.
