Will DDR3 1600 Work on a Board that Supports 1333?

The motherboard says it supports 800MHz, 1060MHz, and 1333MHz. While not paying attention I purchased 2 2GB 1600MHz DDR3 sticks. Will it still work?

  1. Normally I would say yes for sure but on an cheaper ECS board like that it's hard to say. I would try it. And if it does work you might can manually set voltages and timings in BIOS to the full 1600mhz. It might run but default at 1333.
