i've got i7 2600k and maximus v gene mobo .. h80i hydro cooler and 16gb gskill trident x ram ... i wanna overclock my pc to 4.6ghz ... i hv neva overclocked before ... 3 days ago when i did it for the 1st tym , i spent hours getting it stable but i m tired of it all .. 4.4 ghz at 1.31 v was pretty cool bt the core temp touched 84 degree celcius after 1:30 hours of blend test .. is it ok if i dont run any test bcoz i play games and watch videos ... i dun think tht'll take 100% of all cores so ultimately my pc is never going to get tht stressed so is it ok if i just change it to 4.6ghz and run it without stress testing ? if i do it from asus turbo evo software , is it ok ?? plzz help

First thing here, check your cooling block fitment, 84C on a 2600k at 4.4 GHz with a H80i is quite a bit higher than I would expect. A 2600k, on decent air at 4.4 I wouldn't expect to crest 70C. Have you changed voltages at all?

well , my hardware dealer took a lot of time to fit that block and i helpled him by making him watch those videos which acted as a guide as to how to install it .... i think it's properly fit in there but nw i'm trying from 1.3 vcore to see at what point it gets stable 4.4 ghz 24/7 .. wtsay ?

Using 1.3V should be okay but the temp is a concern. How's the airflow in your case?
