My PC has both Windows 7 and Windows XP. I used to play on Win7(i had 0 problems) but after reading some articles about WinXP having better fps I reformatted my WinXP and installed BC2. Right now only my mobo drivers, ATI catalyst 10.2 and BC2 are installed in this OS. I can play for about 10-20ish minutes before the "VPU Recover"message shows. And on GPU-Z it shows max GPU temp of 53 only.

I played BC2 for about a week now on Win7, how come I only have this error on WinXP?
I can always go back to using win7, but i just want to know why i got this error.

I have a 1 month old XFX 5770(stock, no OC), 2gb of RAM, e4400 (stock, no OC)

Since your game works well on win7 then just continue using it... :)
As u know, driver for win7 is different from win xp.
So u must use the proper driver for your card...

an update to my problem:

i updated my win xp, removed ati drivers using a tool provided by ATI on guru3d website, re-downloaded the ati catalyst 10.2 and installed it.

right after my pc rebooted(it was required to finish the 10.2 driver installation) i got this message
"could not load file or assembly mom.implementation or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified"
