AMD fusion demonstration at computex

Well i thought toms would at least put up a news article about this, but whatever.

The demo is pretty impressive. Fusion is shown running AVP at about 30fps. That is amazing considered its all done on one chip.

Thoughts?

Hard to say if I am impressed or not. What were the settings and resolution? What frames do other video cards get? What do current integrated solutions get? I'm sure someone knows. Post if you do :)

I think it looks promising and the removal of the GPU from the northbridge would move all the heat to one location pretty much.
  2. 40nm at its best, love it

Well current igps (radeon 4200, GMA x4500HD, GF 9300) get like 10 fps at best in modern games. And this was in dx11 mode which means keeping about 30 fps is pretty impressive in a relatively taxing game like AVP. As for res, im guessing either 720 or 1080, since a lot of demonstrations are at those resolutions.
  4. still very good no matter what. i totally want it but i doubt i will ever have the $$$ to buy stuff like that. i usually end up with the eol stuff like core2duos and 6800 ultras...
  5. i doubt fusion will be that xpensive when it is released, there should be solutions for all income brackets
