Hello all,

I have an old Omnibook 600C which I would like to use for a
particular task. It has not been used for some years, and it
has been stored with the battery kept in.

When I connected the charger the other day, the green pilot
light came on, but nothing happened when I pressed ON.
After a while, though, there were suddenly some unexpected
beeps, and a another hit on ON actually turned it on.

It seemed to work perfectly normally and my expectations
rose. However, after turning it off and on later, I was
back at square one: the old OB completely dead, except for
the green light.

I have tried to press the "reset" button underneath, the
only result being that it makes the green light twinkle
slowly. When pressing ON, it turns into a steady green.
Occasionally, I have seen a slight flicker on the screen.

I have also tried to take out the battery as well as the HDD,
leaving the Omnibook off (no choice) for more than half an
hour and, after replacing the battery & HDD, I tried to turn
it on, a few times even after pressing "reset" again. All I
can achieve is to make the green light twinkle slowly.

Any ideas on how to revive my old OmniBook 600C would be
most welcome! The OS is W3.11.

The OB 600 is actually still a very nice computer - when
it works!

TIA,
Kim
