Hey Im building a new computer that will be used MOSTLY FOR GAMING and surfing. Im debating over whether to get the Triple core or the quad core. I'm trying to save money, but a quad core. What are the chances of unlocking the 4th core in the triple core? Also, are there any good combo deals on newegg with a CPU and mobo? This is the combo I have now...

The chances of unlocking the 4th core are about 100%. The chances of getting a 4th core that is stable & won't cause problems is a lot less. No one really knows what your chances are. It's the 'luck of the draw' really.

If the $30 savings will let you move up to a better video card it's definitively worth getting the X3 435.

That X3/MSI 870A-G54 looks like a great combo deal.

Alright thanks. Ill stick with the A3 then. Whats the best video card I can get for $600-625? Cheaper is better. This is what my current build looks like...

RAM/PSU(I know 650w is a overkill but im going to be upgrading as time goes on) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

HDD: Samsung spinpoint f3 500gb...

Case: NZXT m59 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Disk dive: Lite on drive. $20

The total of all of that with the processor and mobo is $605

If your budget is firm @ ~$600 you can hardly do better with what you have listed.

Did you notice the MSI 870A-G54 motherboard's 2nd PCI-e x16 slot was X4 instead of x8 for Crossfire? They 'borrowed' some of the 2nd PCI-e x16 lanes to get USB 3.0 and SATA 6GB/s into the motherboard.

Yeah I did :/ . Would it be better to get a motherboard with better crossfire capabilities instead of USB 3.0? And if so, whats a good combo? I might eventually crossfire.

Yep. If you really find you need usb 3.0, you can get a PCI expansion card in the future.

I dont need USB 3.0 I just thought it might be smart. Any good mobo/CPU combos with an athlon x3?

It's a trade off. You could still do Crossfire video cards @ x16 x4 and still have USB3 and SATA 6.
The performance difference isn't that great - a few percentage points at most. It's probably a good bargain on your budget.
Look here for x16 / x8 / x4 performance comparison.
And you could go with a single next gen video card upgrade instead of Crossfire 2 older cards (like adding another HD 4580 in a 12-18 months).
