Does anyone know if a Thermaltake Frio will fit on a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 with Corsair Vengeance high profile RAM, or will I have to remove the heat spreaders or go with low profile RAM instead?

From a Newegg review. Seems high profile memory might be a problem:

2 out of 5 eggsDid not fit Gigabyte 990FX

Pros: Massive size, good reviews, videos on youtube show drastic heat sapping ability.

Cons: Massive size.. 6.5" tall and is also quite wide... would not seat properly on my motherboard or processor. I ended up opting to stick with the stock AMD FX cooler until I locate a TRUE universal heatsink.

If you're getting a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA then avoid this heatsink since it will not clear the RAM sockets(let alone the cards, it blocks a single slot in its own right).

Two eggs on this one... nice construction, nice design... Bad design as well since it blocks a RAM socket, does not seat properly and does not mention on the description page it needs a specific case size(something I checked before ordering).

Other Thoughts: Really should slap a warning on this product "Might not fit all cases, motherboards..." and "requires 7.5" case width minimum."

It is a nice made heatsink no doubt... shame it didn't work with my rig. RMA'd.

I was planning on going with the Thermaltake Water2.0 Pro, but a friend recommended that I get this. I will just stick with the Thermaltake unit for now until I get ready to make the plunge into some real water cooling.

Thank you very much for the information. I would have been seriously bummed to have discovered that information after I received the Frio and tried to install it.
