Core 2 duo vs i7

I'm planning 2 buy a laptp within 35000/- . I wnt 2 run phtoshp, flash, dream weavr, n pwr pt . Shal I go 4 core 2 duo or core i3 ? Wl 3GB SDRAM,320 GB hard drive n windws 7 suit me?

go for i3, its the newer 32nm technology, and faster because of HT (which allows the processor to process 4 threads at the same time). Plus, the i3 is faster clock-for-clock and beats a core 2 duo p8600 at any given benchmark and even the T9550 (2.66ghz) at cinebench R10 bench. Plus u'll get better battery life.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

If the 4 cores CPU is the i5-7xx series or the i7, go with it. If isn't go with the i3 and finally go with the Core 2 Duo.

In this case I'm thinking "Shal I go 4 core" actually means 'shall I go for Core 2 Duo'

Chose Core i3 over Core 2 Duo.
Unless it's a Core 2 Duo P9600 (2.66GHz, 6M L2 Cache) vs Core i3-330M Processor (2.13 GHz, 3M Cache, )
