I got this Sony Vaio PCG-N505X, and I want to boot
it from CD.
It doesn't seem to check for CD device at all. It is positioned
as first boot device in BIOS, but it still boots from HD.
Since it doesn't work, I want to boot from a floppy and
then run win98se setup from CD.
Standar Win98 boot floppy does not load Sony's CD ROM
drivers (CDROM model PCGA-CD51), so I BADLY need
Sony boot floppy disk (which will make CD show up).
I googled a lot but i did not find this boot floppy...

The standard Win98 boot floppy (Emergency Recovery Disk) has two startup
options: boot with and without CD support. The CD support option does
not work? The Win98 boot floppy with CD support loads a generic CD
driver which works with virtually 100% of CD drives. Did you generate
the boot floppy from the Win98 Emergency Recovery Disk option?

There is no Sony boot floppy for the PCGA-CD51 - that drive is
detected automatically by the BIOS as an internal drive and any
Windows boot floppy with CD capability will read it.
