HTPC Machine

Forum Systems : New Build HTPC Machine

I definitely want to build a Linux machine with XBMC Media Center.

I have had an eye on this newegg combo: http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/ [...] mbo.353864

The nvidia ion seems like the obvious choice because of Linux support and VDPAU decoding for 1080 content.

Want to build own vs preassembled ion systems as I am interested in upgrading to ion's successor when it is available/affordable.

Budget: $350-400 for system
Remote control recommendation appreciated
Large hard drive not required as I have a media server

You might consider the LATEST ATOM/ION2 build ... bet that would work ...

Also look at this (explore the manufacturer's links, ... Tom's reviews, etc).

These are the cheapest (yet capable) nVidia HTPC options I know of.
