P5n-t deluxe wont power on

Hello,

I'm experiencing a strange problem with my pc. I moved it to another location for the summer and now it won't boot. By booting i mean it won't even power on, even though the motherboard LED is on and the Ethernet port is flashing.

I've tried several things, including removing different hardware except the PSU, checking wires and cleaning. In some cases after i cut the power from the psu, the LED from my cabinet fans will give a quick flash. I've been trying to surf for answer but cant seem to find any. Anyone with ideas?

Processor: E8400
RAM: Kingston HyperX PC8500
Video: Redeon 4870
Motherboard: P5N-T Deluxe

I hope you guys can help!

Best regards
Kristian

  1. What kind of PSU?

The motherboard and ethernet LED's are powered by the small, always on standby power supply in the PSU. That has nothing to do with the main circuits that actually provide operating power to the PC.

The PSU is an Aspire 520W... I've just been going throught your troubleshooting checklist and nothing on the list seems to help.
  3. Just did a test with another PSU. Works.. I conclude my PSU is dead. Thanks for the help jsc.
