Is a 64mb cache drive compaible with an older 32mb cache drive?

I'm planning to get a seagate st1000dm003 drive which has 64mb cache as an additional stoage drive in my comp, I have windows installed on a 4 year old 160gb seagate hard disk(don't remember make will post when I switch it back on) which is 32mb drive, Will the 64 mb drive work fine or will it be problematic?
Thank you in advance
