Can my PC support Gefoce 8800 GT PC-E 2.0?

I was trying to buy a Geforce 8800 GT

My PC HP Pavilion a6242n

I think my motherboard only has PC-E 16x but Geforce 8800 GT is PCI-E x16 2.0

can my PCI-E 16x motherboard compatible with Geforce 8800 GT PCI-E x16 2.0?

Yes it will work but first make sure your power supply can handle the video card. Is it the one that originally came with the HP computer? If so, I'm pretty sure it is a cheapo 300W power supply which will not be enough for your 8800 GT. I myself own a HP pc and had to upgrade my power supply to a new one to power an ATI Radeon HD 4770, whichs draws less power than a 8800 GT.
