The setting you need to change is to set the SATA drives to IDE/ATA mode.

What PhilFrisbie said will make your install go easier. You can use the SATA/AHCI setting for XP, but you will need to use the F6 option during setup to install the SATA/AHCI drivers as XP doesn't have native sata drivers.

Yes, I assumed that was the case; I cannot think of any other BIOS setting that would affect XP on newer hardware.
