What is the difference between am2 and am2+ ?

what is the difference between am2 and am2+? Right now I have a sempron 2800+/MSI K-9vgm board (AM2) which I want to upgrade

AM2+ have support for the newer AM3 CPUs. You want to upgrade just the mobo?
