So some explanation: I picked the HD 5750 because even though its a few more $$ than a 4850 i like the future proof with DX11 and didnt see the need for a 5770 with only 1440x900 resolution. The Antec BP550 is name brand and should more than suffice, with some room for upgrades. The Athlon II 630 is a midrange CPU with decent clock, shouldnt need any more and its the same price as 620 (weird). Again he wanted Quad core, wouldnt consider tri-core. Ive heard the Samsung F3's are better than WD Black and Seagate 1TB drives and about same price too. The RAM is 1600 speed with CAS 7 and a good brand and about cheapest I could find too (except for OCZ which have issues).

And I'll probably get some flak on the MB but Ive used ASRock before and liked it, dont need USB 3.0, only really need 1 PCI-Ex16 slot (even though it has 2), dont need award winning OCing abilities, dont need onboard video, its cheap, and I've seen it recommended in a few other posts (whitefang likes it too).

So anything I can improve on? Trying to keep it at $650. Thanks!

Nice build. No changes off the top of my head, though of course the mobo wouldn't be my first choice of brand (I build asus). If it works though, it doesn't matter.

Like elel, Iam a little nervous on the mobo when I built my old AMD Phenom, I ordered an AsRock and it was DOA. The second MOBO they sent me worked for a week before frying my CPU! Dont know about the MOBO your buying though. Anyways I have a similar build but I have this Ram:

I have 2 kits for 8GB and they are KICKASS! Plus with the rebate its only $92.

Yeah if not for a budget I would have picked an asus or gigabyte but I had $65 left and it fit the bill perfect. Thanks for the input.

That ram's not bad, but its CAS 9 and I picked CAS 7 and I've seen where the timing difference between the 2 can be pretty significant and it was only a few bucks more. I've OCZ before and had issues and never had issues with Gskill. Not saying OCZ is bad, just personal preference. Thanks for your input.

Not a bad build for the price. Although I prefer ASUS, GIGABYTE, and MSI. Asrock boards are good for a budget system as long as you dont plan on high end gaming.
Also this board is useless for crossfire as the second pci-x is only 4x.
There is more to the 5770 than just resolution.

Good Luck and Enjoy. Just check the benchmarks and reviews.

Are you referring to the 5770 being faster because of course its gonna be but at his resolution the 5750 should be fine. The 5750 also draws less power, is shorter and is quieter. I know it doesnt have native eyefinity which isnt a big deal either. What other difference are you referring to?
