ASUS 7870 vs Asus 660ti

Have a really tough choice here, and I can't decide which to go for.

The 7870 is the better deal but the 660ti is only around £30 more. Question is, is it worth the extra?

Looking for the card to be used for the total war franchise as well as fps' such as BF3.

Will be looking at overclocking in the future, so that will be something to consider.

Card will be installed along side the following:

Intel i5 3570k
Asus P8Z77-V LX2
Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 8GB DDR3 RAM
XFX Pro 550W Core Edition PSU

Any suggestions welcome.

660ti is a little better than the 7870. If you like phys x as well, then get the 660ti. The performance increase alone does not justify the extra cost.

For the two games you listed the 660ti wins performance wise.
