The answer is no. Your old drive is expecting to see your old motherboard and cpu.

You will have to do a fresh installation of Windows on your Barracuda in order to use it with your new motherboard and cpu.

How would I do that if the hard drive came pre loaded with windows 7 on it when i bought the computer?
  3. Pre-loaded PCs normally have CDs with them so that you can re-install Windows.
  4. Boot into Windows Safe Mode when you connect your drive to your new system.
Once into Safe Mode see if you can install the motherboard drivers on the CD that comes with your Biostar motherboard.
  5. OK, what if i wiped my hard drive, then put that in to my new system, and then re installed windows 7 on to it after I start up my new system?

Yes, that's what I originally suggested by a fresh install. I apologize for not been clear.

Not quite accurate. You can prep a hardware neutral version of windows, though doing so can be beyond the scope of some folks technical ability.
