I bought a HP desktop specs here it has 2gb ddr cards in it. Here are the specs:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Docume...

It says the following:

Memory
Component Attributes
Memory Installed 4 GB (2 x 2 GB)
Maximum allowed 4 GB* (2 x 2 GB)

*Actual available memory may be less
Speed supported PC3-10600 MB/sec (message as PC3-6400)
Type 240 pin, DDR3 SDRAM

My question is can I put any size cards in these 2 slots like 2 8gb cards? will it read and use the full amount of ram? It says maximum allowed is 4gb I am kind of a novice am i capped at the 4gb or can these be swapped out as I'm going to game on this computer.

Thanks for your time and help

Nope -- the MOBO itself is set to use a MAXIMUM of 4 GB. so the most you can use is 2x2GB. that you already have !

Appreciate the response I feared that 4gb is realivant for now... I'll have to sell this bad boy down the road if it's an issue :)
