SLI Compatible?

Last response: in Graphics & Displays

I currently have a PNY GTX 260, would BFG Tech nvidia GeForce GTX 260 896MB video card play nicely with my PNY in sli? For every report that they are compatible, i get one that says they are not. Some clarification please?

I also have a Rocketfish 700w psu From Best Buy, is this enough? I have an open rail ready for the card.

Thanks so much, in advance!

As long as the PCI-e power connectors are on different wires, it should be OK. Generally speaking, if two cards are of the same model, then they are CFx/SLI compatible, even if they are of different brands. Preferably, everything should be the same, to minimize compatibility issues.

All the rails are usually tied together and the plugs themselves can take much more than they are rated, so as long as the PSU has enough 12V amps, it will work ok.

Oops, I meant to say rails. The PCI-e power connectors must be on separate rails.

But yes, enough 12V amps should do the trick.
