Quick question about SDRAM

I have no idea what these specifications mean, but maybe you kind people do and can help me out

It's a DDR SDRAM with
PC1600, 100MHz, CL2, ECC, Reg.

Does this mean I can use it with a desktop/laptop?
Or is it server ram?
(If it is server ram, how do I go by using that?)

Generally, registered ram is for servers only. The motherboard chipset has to support it. But some of the newer i5 and i7 cpus will run with it without the error correction function on a p55 or x58 board. You'll just have to try it with your board. If it won't post, I would sell it.
