4650 on 280W PSU

So I'm deciding to purchase an ATI Radeon 4650 (LP) for my Dell Dimension c521, which is running on 280W. Because I can't find the search function, has anyone tried this? Will it work? :/

If so, which one will you guys reccomend?

It's getting dark, I will check up this morning ^_^

More about 4650 280w
  1. 1GB ram on this card is a waste as it is not fast enough to make use of it.

Get this HD4650 for much cheaper

This also has DDR3 memory which is much faster than DDR2 memory on those two you mentioned.Overall this card is faster and that too for a lesser price !! :)

Yes, HD4650 will run on a 280W Dell PSU.
  2. +1 ^ with all of that. No problems with your Dell PSU, it will work fine.
  3. You could always go for a 5570. It would perform slightly better and has DDR3 instead of DDR2.

  4. Thanks. I guess I will be buying the Sapphire Radeon 4650... Sorry shubham1401, the card you suggested me is not a low profile card; it will not fit into my slim line desktop.
jay2tall, I WOULD get that card but it's not on-sale in Canada :( I only have a $100 Vanilla Mastercard to spend, Lol. Plus tax, that card will be more than $100.

SHouldn't I just plan on the Asus one? Because it's just 512Mb more memory than the Sapphire one, for the heck of it?
  5. jay is right go with the hd5570!i have this card and it runs fine on low power and it runs very cool!

Get the one with a bigger fan on the heatsink(Sapphire one has a bigger fan IMO).
Since Bigger Fan = Lower RPM for same cooling = lower noise = peace of mind

    :)
