I5 2500K at 4.8 mhz
ASrock ITX-E Z77
Gigabyte 2GB 7870 OC Windforce x3
Corsair CX600 builder series (600 watt, 42 amp on 12 v rail)

So im trying to overclock my video card here using MSI afterburner.

I can get much lower voltage and run stable in the klombuster and 3d mark 11

however for any real games such as battlefield or Far cry 3 I need to ramp up the voltage, so that I will just leave it. Can you guys check to make sure this is safe?

1200 MHz core at 1.281 volts (with the v dropp GPU-Z tells me max at 1.27 volts) temp is 64C max in far cry 3
1300 MHZ ram, temps saying 68C max on GPU-Z in farcry 3, this the ram right? Isnt this a bit high?

At any rate, like I said I can run lower volts and it wont crash in 3dmark 11 however it will when I start up a graphical intense game.

I have this card too and I don't think 1.28v is safe because the pcb on this card is not made to take the extra voltage. I am even skeptical about running my card at 1.237v. The only time overvolting that high is really safe is with an msi card.

timil how does that card run with the 965 ? no such bottlenecks ? do you play bf3 if so what is your gpu usage and your Resolution.

my apologies kuziwk I know this is not related to what you ask

well i cant get a stable overclock without 1.281 volts, but like i said the the vdroop realistically in GPU-Z it's ony 1.270 volts. Anyone else care to chime in?
Temps dont go over 64C.

if it's not stable it's not stable.

the card is a factory overclocked one. the voltage setting is the max. value based on AMD's guideline. if you are going to squeeze more, it might be not stable. .

I dont play bf3 but I play planetside 2 and get about 30 fps on high settigs. Your cpu is leaps and bounds ahead of mine it will have no trouble playing battle field.
