Hello,
My old XP machine broke, fortunately the disk was still ok, so I placed the disk into an external drive.
Problem is that i can not access the files form my new Windows 7 machine because i am not having access to folders and files.

Any tool that can break through this barrier?

Yes, that is IMHO a stupid Windows 7 security feature. I keep a Windows XP machine around because of that, but you can also make a Linux live boot CD, boot into Linux, then freely copy the files from your USB drive into your hard drive.
