ATI 5850 power supply

Apologies if this should be in a different thread, but i thought it belonged here. :D

Im upgrading my 260 gtx(not the core 216) to a ATI 5850

I currently run a BFG 550 Watt PSU and everything runs fine. I also have a Core 2 Quad 8400, 3 gigs of RAM, one sata HDD and a IDE DVD-+RW

Im wondering will my PSU power the 5850 adequately.

If not, I would appreciate a link posted to a quality, good priced power supply.

THANKS!!!!

  1. HD5850 uses a max of 151Watts I think. Considering the power improvements made from the HD5K series' move to a smaller size, I think that you'll be just fine.

You'll be fine. See my system below which does not include 4 hard drives and 2 DVD burners.
  4. BFG makes nice PSU's and you will have no issues with a 550w. It will run pretty efficiently to.
