Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker for quite some time now and I finally came out of the shell because I have a personal issue with my new ssd.

I just installed a samsung 830 256gb on my new samsung series 7 laptop. The laptop is able to support Sata 3.

However I am concerned about the speeds of my 4k and 4k-64thrd they seem low compared to other benchmarks I've seen in reviews and in other people's videos.

here are my numbers, I am mainly concerned about my 4k numbers.

AS SSD Bench- 1.6.4237.30508
iastor- OK
103424- OK <--------- does this have anything to do with it?

Seq: 495.44 MB/s Read 397.27 MB/s Write
4K: 11.32 MB/s Read 41.29 MB/s Write
4K-64: 276.66 MB/s Read 138.98 MB/s Write
Acc.T: 0.109 ms Read 0.084 Write

In other people's benchmarks I have seen 4k Read of at least 21 MB/s and writes of 57 MB/s. What is causing the low numbers here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have tried updating the intel chipset, I have samsung's ssd magician also and I have done all the tricks necessary from the ssd review's ssd optimization guide.

Thank you

Is your bios set to use AHCI mode?
Which AHCI driver are you using?

It would help to know which latop you have also.
