Just put together a new AMD computer for my roommate. Here are the specs:

AMD X4 965
ASUS M4A88T-V EVO USB 3.0
4 GB (2x2GB) G-SKILL DDR3 1333
Geforce 9800 GTX
Existing Seagate Barracuda with Windows Vista

After putting it all together we turned on the power and everything came on except the monitor. I tried plugging it in the VGA on-board video and nothing. I'm not even sure the thing is POSTing. I have the motherboard speaker plugged in but it isn't giving any error beeps. I tried taking out the video card to see if there was a conflict but no video still.

Any suggestions? I'm sure everything is plugged in correctly. Could it possibly be a DOA motherboard?

If the memory isn't already there, move it to the outer two slots, they are different colors iirc. Normally i would start by checking power but I've seen this several times on asus boards.

Is the 'power good' led on? I think that mobo has one. If the memory is already in the correct slots then begin by checking power supply voltages and that the connectors are installed (20+4 pin main and the 4 or 8 pin cpu)
