Hello,

A friend of mine wants to upgrade his CPU, but when i checked his Mobo (ASRock N61P-S) CPU support i found something strange:

*If you use AM3 / AM2+ CPU on AM2 chipset motherboard, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0 (5200 MT/s) to HT1.0 (2000 MT/s), but the CPU frequency will not be influenced.

I have never seen this type of Mobo and I would like someone to explain how will this limitation affect the CPU performance?

Thanks :)

Don't bother with that, no difference. Get an AM3 CPU. Make sure it's no more than 95W TDP.
