Recently viewed server specs that required some explanation. This is a server with two x86 1Ghz processors with "64bit extensions".

not familiar with extensions. How does this work with the CPU, is this a processing multiplier, and can this feature be seen in an image?

Any guidance on this feature would be appreciated.

Much thanks for your timely reply. This spec came directly from the Microsoft Elearning course for Windows Server 2008 Administrator. Wanted to attach an image from the material but the process will not cooperate. It is scenario and clearly describes a server with the spec:

Two x86 1 GHz CPUs with 64-bit extensions

That does not have 64 bit extension so I doubt thats what they are talking about. The slowest speed Xeon that has 64bit Instruction Set is the Xeon 5110 at 1.6ghz. I think microsoft was just using an example and not an actual processor.
