Hello all, I am a total noob to CPU hardwares, but i need a higher specs urgently for my school work so i am buying the following specs on tml, in anycase please guide me base on my built.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Tomorrow

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Photoshop, 3D rendering programs, illustrator, bit of gaming

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, monitor

PARTS PREFERENCES:

Mobo - Intel core i7- 930 (2.8) Asus P6x58d Premium
Graphic card - XFX HD5770 1gb DDR5
HD - Seagate 250gb sata
RAM - Team Elite DDR3 1333 3gb kit
Power - OCZ ModXstream pro 700w
Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212+
DVDRW - LG 22x
Case - Mid tower NZXT M59

OVERCLOCKING: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1280x1024

Only school work? You don't need that kind of PC.
The current specs you have mentioned is a gamer PC, it is a lot more expensive than a school work PC, probably far more than you will need, if it will be only for school work.
School work won't need that kind of power.
You can get cheaper specs, if it is really only for school work.

So be honest! Is it only for school work or will it be also as a gaming rig?
We will help after you answer that.

BTW : What is your the specs of your old/current PC?

As a student, you have to be very careful with your budget.

Thx for replying, erm...like graphic rendering, Autodesk3D Maya 2010 version...i had a lot of problems when the CPU is not up for job. Btw i am doing it all in my laptop now i don't exactly remember the spec but its a dual core with 1.8+ghz
