    Way to use caps lock...

A laptop's IGP would be iffy on getting the full 1080p. And you'd likely be looking at a $2,000 machine to do that.

Any onboard graphics would struggle to produce consistently at 1080p. That said, the i3/H55 or H57's integrated graphics would certainly do it. Here's what I would recommend:

    CPU/Mobo: i3-530 and ASUS P7H55-M/CSM $210
RAM: Crucial 2x1 GB 1333 mhz CAS Latency 9 $55
    HDD: Seagate 7200.12 500 GB $55
Optical: Cheap SATA DVD burner $22

Total: $342. You certainly won't get a capable laptop for that.
  2. Sorry about that, work in caps all day long, I've been told by others it can be intimidating...Lol

Kinda what I thought, thanks for your response

    Just bought:

    CPU: Phenom X2 555
    MB: MSI 785G-51
Got both in a combo for $104 thought the price was to good to pass up.
Was thinking right along those lines as to the other components

Would have liked to build and intel system as my first P4 is now 8 years old and has run flawless. The i3 would consume much less power but it's twice as much. And unfortunately this one's on a budget.

May end up turning this into my new workstation and moving my Athlon X2 250 into the HTPC case. Built it two weeks ago to replace the P4. I paid $1200 for that computer (p4) years back and it has been worth every penny and still running. Now I can build (2) respectable systems and buy a budget laptop for the same price...what a difference 8 years makes.

THANKS again for your response MadAdmiral
