LG W2486L or Samsung XL2370?

Which one of these monitors are the best? The LG or the Samsung? I know that these monitors are very similar except the contrast ratios. I considered the Samsung P2370 but with only a 50,000:1 contrast compared to the 5,000,000:1 on the other Samsung, but is the P2370 still worth considering?

Mostly I will be using this monitor to game and hang ten on the internet. Also I will probably buy three of the one monitor I choose to run in eyefinity with my soon to be X-fired 5770s.

Does anybody have these monitors and which one is the best? Is there any other better monitor out there?

I have a similar samsung one and its excellent, although LG makes excellent monitors also (and the on you linked does look nice). Frankly, I think you cant go wrong with either one and I would just get the cheaper of the two.

*or buy both and send me the one you don't like :D

5,000,00:1 dynamic contrast ratio... big number, no difference. Get the cheaper of the two. They gotta bring back the 16:10 displays.

Surprisingly enough, currently the the prices for both monitors are exactly the same. So if price is exactly the same go for the 5,000,000:1 right? 1080p is 16:9...

Hmm... I think I will do that option.

Including the shipping, the Samsung edges the LG in price quite a bit. I'd take the Samsung but I just noticed how awesome that LG design is. It's up to you.

And 1080p is irrelevant to computer monitors. It's only better for monitor companies to advertise their displays as "FULL HD" while not having to manufacture the more expensive 1920x1200 displays, which also supports 1080p. The difference might be minimal for some, but if I can get a 1920x1200 24" monitor for the same price as a new 124,414,144,127:1 dynamic contrast ratio display running at a native 1920:1080, I'll take the 1920x1200.

Price depends on where you look, sure newegg always has pretty good prices but sometimes other companies can beat them. For me I just copy the model number and then I paste into the little google search bar at the top of my browser window and then once it searches I click the shopping tab and then try to find the cheapest one. Although some of the best deals I've gotten where from newegg, amazon, and zipzoomfly. For the LG I can get it here for $300 plus free shipping, although the resolution is wrong on the spec sheet. The Samsung I can actually get from my local bestbuy (personally I distrust bestbuy, but if they have the best deal I will take it).

I'd go for the LG just for sheer design. Not saying that the design of the Samsung is bad, but geez, that LG is pretty sick. If you can get that LG for $300 flat, that would be my recommendation.
