Performance difference between HD 4850 1Gb and 512

Just curious if anyone knows the performance difference between the 1gb version of the HD 4850 and 512mb version. If you run 4 gigs of dual channel ddr3 ram is one better than the other?

It's not the amount of RAM on the motherboard. It's about the size of the frame buffers and the size of the monitors. Generally, 512K is enough for up to a 22" monitor (1680 x 1050).
