I'm looking at two SSD 256 GB hard drives that were recommended in TH forums.

Both have five "eggs" on NewEgg. The Samsung was rated in the "top tier" in TH, but interestingly the Crucial was faster in Windows 7 boot speeds. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-storage-value,3...

I'm really torn. I'm building a gaming rig for Diablo 3 and games going forward. I am toying with the idea of two SSDs, since I'm a big believer in SSD but will probably get only one for now and wait for prices to lower more. I can use my old 7200 RPM drive for backup.

- Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD2CCA 2.5" 256GB SATA III ($255)

Thanks!!

Both are good but the Samsung would take the overall win any performance difference would not be noticeable to most.

Samsung 830 and Intel are considered the most reliable.

Do not anguish over synthetic benchmark performance differences. The benchmarks bear little difference to reality.
In actual use the performance of all modern SSD's is remarkably similar, and vastly better than any conventional hard drive.

Samsung 830 would get my vote.

I order about 2x m4's a month, for the past year or so, and none of them have ever been defective or failed
