Recovering Windows XP from a HD partition

I HAVE INSTALLED WINDOWS XP SP2, ON MY PC, NETPROTECTOR ANTIVIRUS ASLO INSTALLED ON IT. IT WAS WORKING SMOOTHLY BUT ON NEXT MORNING WHEN STARTED "NTDLR MISSING" MESSAGE CAME AND WIN DIDN'T RUN. TRIED TO RESTORE IN SAFE MODE, LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION , F11- RECOVERY OPTION BUT FAILED ALSO TRIED REPAIR FROM XP CD..BUT IN VEIN. PLEASE GUIDE.I SHALL BE GRATEFUL.

Restart into the Safe mode menu and select Safe Mode with Command Prompt. Put your XP CD inthe ROM drive and then at the Command Prompt, type sfc /scannow (including the space) and press Enter. The system will search for missing or corrupted files and replace any it finds.
