Bulit desktop but after turn on dont do anything

Ive Got The Msi K9N-Sli V.2 And Im Running The AMD Phenom 9600 X4 Quad Core CPU HD9600WCJ4BGD AM2 But My Question Is When i turn the c on al the fans start up but nothing hapens on the screen its driving me crazy any help welcome thanks Michael

ram/gpu, wat gpu are you using with it, are the pci-e power ports populated?
