FireGL V8600 windows 7 driver crash

Hello, I just installed a FireGL V8600 in a new workstation with the i7 975 chip and Windows 7. I installed the latest unified driver from the ati.amd website. However, every half an hour or so my screen turns black, comes back on after a few seconds, and my system tells me that my video card driver has crashed and successfully restarted. I assume this is a driver compatibility issue, but I haven't figured out a solution. Any help is really appreciated.
